we hope you have a happy 4th of july!
we’ll be celebrating here in d.c. with plans of a BBQ,
red white + blue dessert party, parade,
church, some organizing around the house and
perhaps a sparkler or two —
or at least some san pellegrino sparkling water
if we don’t get our hands on some sparklers ;)
*polaroids from a day at the pool earlier this week....
on saturday we took eleanor to the national zoo
to see the animals. i don’t think she really cared for much besides trying to eat my snow cone, but josh and i really enjoyed ourselves. the weather was beautiful, all the animals were out and about and the gorillas put on quite the show for us!...
goodness! these last two days have been quite the adventure! we were affected by the power outage in d.c. tuesday afternoon and a whopping 2 days later, it’s finally back! why this power outage had to occur on the hottest days so far this year, i still don’t know (actually i do know. the heat is what caused it, but anyway…) it was quite the experience and i’m just really glad it’s over....
we took a break from all our unpacking yesterday to enjoy this hot summer weather by having a little BBQ with these friends
on their roof top pool. and since E only has probably 2 more weeks before her little 4 month old body outgrows this bathing suit sized for a 9 month old (this child knows how to eat!) we hope to get in as many pool days as possible in that next little while....
our friends patrick + kastle
were in d.c. over the weekend
so we got to meet their new 8 month old baby nigel (cutie pie!)
and they got to meet our *almost* 4 month old baby girl.
josh and patrick studied at columbia together.
i love this first photo of the two of them now…
years later, with their new little babies....
