this year was a very special one for our family. it was filled with travel and adventure, good friends and food, but most importantly, it was filled with lots of time spent together.  there was often chaos, rarely a clean apartment, and never a fully restful night of sleep for us parents here, but so thankful for this little family of mine and the happiness they bring into my every day....

apple picking we go!

apple picking has to be one of my favorite things about autumn! crisp tart apples pretty much mean sweater weather and colorful leaves are around the corner. it also means most of our conversations revolve around halloween costume choices (which change with three small children every couple of hours) and talk of halloween gets me all sorts of excited because it means my favorite favorite favorite time of year is basically here....

we took the kids to the day session of the US Open on monday! this is always one of our favorite things to do together when we are in town for it, and it’s pretty much become tradition for us.

we saw kerber win the women’s match and nadal win the men’s. the kids always pick which player they want to win and cheer for, and they both choose the winners both times!...

hello! sharing lots of photos today from the day we took a boat out around lake maggiore. this was so much fun! i don’t know why i get hesitant to do water activities with the kiddos, i always anticipate that they are going to hate it and we’re going to be stuck on a boat far away from land, but it turns out that all three of our kids are water babies through and through and never want to get back onto shore....

while we were in pennsylvania the other weekend, we stopped by the crayon factory (well, it’s now called the crayola experience, but i keep calling it the crayon factory. thank you mr. rogers!) in easton! that place was pretty cool, and my three tiny artists who love using anything and everything as their paper (including my white walls once or twice in the past) were in absolute heaven....
