apple picking we go!

apple picking has to be one of my favorite things about autumn! crisp tart apples pretty much mean sweater weather and colorful leaves are around the corner. it also means most of our conversations revolve around halloween costume choices (which change with three small children every couple of hours) and talk of halloween gets me all sorts of excited because it means my favorite favorite favorite time of year is basically here....

over the weekend, we rented a car and escaped the city in search of a pumpkin patch! a girlfriend of mine who lives in westchester recommended wilken’s farm, and it was amazing.  after a beautiful drive staring at all the leaves that have started to change colors, we spent a good portion of our afternoon just hanging out with all the pumpkins (and trying our very hardest to talk samson out of bringing home the very biggest pumpkin in the field, which he had his heart set on for quite a few minutes there, haha!...

one of our favorite family traditions is to go apple picking in the fall!  we went up to silverman’s farm in connecticut as a family and had a great time running around, picking apples, picking rocks (samson) and petting all the sweet animals they have on the farm. i was so surprised how few apples remained on the trees, but because of the weather this year, they said their apple season came quickly....
