one of my most frequently asked questions these days is around finding deals on airfare, especially since we are a family of 5 (and 5 tickets add up!!!!) but have gotten the hang of finding cheaper airfare to destinations around the world, which has honestly become one of josh’s and my favorite pastimes. of course, what one considers a cheap airline ticket will vary from one person to the next, and i think we have an advantage living in new york city which is a big hub for many international airlines, but i do think it’s possible to find cheap tickets no matter where you are and where you want to go....Read more

we spent a morning exploring the volcano tubes in snow canyon state park and it was definitely one of our family’s favorite things we did while in st. george. it’s only about a half a mile hike in, and then if you’re brave and wanna climb down into the dark black tunnels (which they call tubes), it’s a little more adventurous and we somehow got talked into doing it by josh....Read more
we have spent the last couple of days in the most beautiful place! we have been staying in a little house that josh found on the top of a cliff overlooking the prettiest pocket of a bay and beach full of the most turquoise and clear water! we are in cala banyalbufar, mallorca, spain!
while we originally anticipated exploring more of mallorca since there was a lot we wanted to see and do, we had such a fun day at the beach by the little home we rented on our first day, we decided to just settle in for a few days and really relax at the home and beach, and not really do anything else. ...Read more

we loved visiting parc güell in barcelona! josh and i were both so excited to see this place, which is covered in mosaics, buildings, sculptures and steps by the one and only gaudi. the kids loved it as well. when josh asked her how these building made her feel, eleanor shared how it looked like waves and the boys talked about how they liked all the colors. ...Read more

it was a wonderful week in the adirondacks. i hope you don’t mind me sharing some more photos from our time there last week. i feel really fortunate that at times we get to take special trips “for work,” especially when they often don’t ever really feel like work at all and we just get to have an incredible time together....Read more

one of our favorite days in bermuda was the one where we got to go to the bermuda aquarium, museum and zoo where we had the very best experience the year before learning all about the different animals and fish and sea creatures that live in bermuda. we also love seeing the way the aquarium helps to rescue so many animals who are hurt or suffering and help them get back to full health before returning them to their homes, like the sea turtle you see in these photos above and below!...Read more

during our first morning in bermuda, we took a boat out just like we did last year. it was a highlight of our trip last time around, and one of the things we were most looking forward to on this return trip!
tom, our tour guide, is seriously the nicest guy. he is the owner of the boat touring company called jet ski bermuda and he was the one who took us out on the water last year as well. he kindly spent several hours past our timeframe this trip with us on the water because he is so nice and we were having so much fun we lost track of how long we’d been out!...Read more

probably my favorite part of exploring the cotswolds was our afternoon visiting the slaughters. i was so confused as we began our planning and josh kept talking about the slaughters. i was like, what even is a place with a name like that?! but apparently, the village gets its name from the old english term for “muddy” or “wet land” which is “slothre,” thus, the slaughters....Read more

after our time spent at the mosque in casablanca, we had one of our favorite meals ever at a place josh found called la sqala. i think half the credit of calling it our favorite meal goes to the delicious food and also the great service, and the other reason why it was a favorite was because we had such a fun time around the table together before, during and after our meal....Read more
our family spent 24 hours in casablanca, morocco, to start off our spring break trip! originally, when we first bought our tickets for this trip, we had planned to spend a much longer time exploring more cities and areas of morocco, but we switched up our itinerary a few weeks back to have more time in the country side of england....Read more
