wanted to hop on here and share a bunch of photos from our first day in park city, utah! the kids have a long winter break from school around this time of year, and so we kept up with last year’s tradition and booked a trip to utah again for the break. this time around though, we’ve been really lucky to have incredible snow during our stay (dare i say, the greatest snow on earth?! ;), and it’s made everything extra beautiful and sparkly during our stay. been wonderful to see both sets of grandparents and get reacquainted with the slopes! can’t wait to share some snowboarding videos and pics later, because it’s been such a positive adventure this year for all three of them and it’s made me so happy to witness.
we’ve been at a hotel in park city that is right at the bottom of main street, so on our first morning, we walked up main street to have breakfast at one of josh’s favorite spots from when he visited park city as a kid (the eating establishment– i think he holds it dear more from all the memories he’s made there over the years growing up than for the food). the restaurant is almost to the very top of main street, so it felt like a hike in and of itself, but then also adding three kids who wanted to stop and play in every single pile of snow they saw on the way up, it took like 5 years to get there. (slight exaggeration. but basically.) they also plopped down and played in every pile of snow they saw on the way BACK DOWN afterwards, too! and so i pulled my camera out on our hike back down the street and took some photos along the way. snowy photos are kinda of really my favorite though, so i can’t complain.
main street in park city. she’s such a beauty.
also, be still my heart when my boys start doing eskimo kisses.
lots of snowballs being thrown.
smiling through the cold.
his faces had me rolling as he was adjusting his gloves. oh, samson!
making a blizzard!
it might be 12 degrees and a full on snowstorm outside, but that doesn’t matter to these three. hopped into rocky mountain chocolate factory and all they wanted was ice cream!
this right here is what i come for. the caramel pecan drizzled in chocolate! one of my favorite treats in this world.
see what i mean about plopping down every few feet we walk to play in more curbside snow?! it doesn’t take much to make little ones happy and it’s always such a good reminder to me. even if it is more ice than snow. we kept telling them we were going to go find cleaner fresher powdery snow, but they really didn’t care. conrad asked them to bury his legs, and they other two were more than happy to help!
we love you, utah! and have a great weekend, everyone!
These pictures are so fun! It looks so beautiful there! Have the best time and enjoy visiting with your families. Sierra~Beautifully Candid

You guys came just in time! We haven’t had snow all winter and now it’s non stop.
You should hit up Wahso while you are here, my husband is the chef and just changed up the menu. It’s lovely!
Happy Vacation and snow days!
Seriously, I love, love, love the snow! It’s so sweet to see your kiddos enjoying the snow too. And why-oh-why do kids find the dirtiest pile of snow to play in? Haha.
Where are your kids’ snowsuits from? And also, any tips for keeping up with kids’ hats/mittens/socks/boots??? Sadly we stay inside sometimes because I can’t deal with all the winter accessories. Haha.
we put all of our snow gear in a big tupperware type bin in the top of our hall closet and that way it stays organized when we aren’t using gloves/hats/snowsuits. it’s so easy to loose a glove in the apartment and then it’s like, AH! so that helps keep everything in the same place and easily accessible for when we want to go outside. it definitely is a lot to stay on top of, but as the kids have gotten older, it doesn’t seem to take as long to get everyone prepped and ready to head out the door thankfully!
Where did you get your boots? Going to Colorado soon with my family.
they are by marc fisher. i linked directly to them a few posts back!
Please keep the color coming! It’s been such a grey, rainy Pacific Northwest winter and you are so inspiring me to put on some pink and yellow and red and blue. If spring won’t come, we can be the spring!

I love hearing that your husband hold such good memories abouth the places he ate as a child. We love trying out restaurants with our kids ( we love Pk City restaurants btw.. Vinto Pizzeria is one of our favorites), so I hope my kids will have warm and happy memories too when they grow up and go back to the places we go now!
