LOVE TAZA CENTRAL PARK PICNIC2-17

we’ve been spending almost every other day in central park the past couple of weeks having picnics or meeting friends or just to play games and run around. we might not have our own backyard with this city living thing, but we have central park, just a few blocks away, and it’s the next best thing.

i know lately i usually just snapchat on our picnics and park days, but on this particular day, i brought the big old camera along and i’m so glad i did.  we picked up my sister hannah along the way, as well as shake shack (which obviously means BEST PICNIC EVER) and spent an hour or two in the park with bubbles and some velcro toss and catch (does that game bring me back to my childhood or what!).

samson is always so happy to jump in and help! last night, he randomly came up to me and asked what he could do to help. that is freaking music to my ears because sometimes i feel like all i do is nag my kids to put their clothes back in the drawer or in the hamper after they wear them (i often come across the cutest little piles of outfits all around the apartment that are in the perfect shape of someone stepping out of them and leaving them right there….lol. my kids love changing their clothes maybe 3 or 4 times a day, so there are tiny piles all over sometimes!) so anyway, to hear him just walk over and ask that, it was bigger than him saying “i love you” for me. haha!

i don’t know who showed conrad how to play football, but that child loves to hug his siblings and then tackle them to the ground! i’m always like, conrad you are going to get hurt!!!! but he doesn’t seem to care, he laughs so hard as he hugs and pulls them down. lol. it’s kind of adorable.

i might be weird right now, but lately it’s just felt too hot to eat a hamburger or even my beloved crispy chicken sandwich from shake shack.  but i still had to take a picture of hannah’s, because that thing is yum.

is it just our 17 month old, or do all 17 month old kiddos love pouring out water from cups and bottles and anything they can get their hands on? i can’t even believe i caught this, he’s always so fast!

There are so many great parks that you guys visit! I love seeing them on your snaps. That chicken sandwich looks SO good. I am not a hamburger person so this would’ve totally hit the spot for me. :)

The link for Conrad’s little jacket goes to Patagonia Men’s Board Shorts, if didn’t know. I was hoping you could tell me of a good brand of Rash Guard swim shirt and swim trunks that you use for your little guys?? My smallest guy is 10 months and I just don’t know what to get him for summer pool time and would love something tried and true! I hate to just choose something online and find out the hard way that it doesn’t work properly.

    • TAZA

oops! sorry about that, here’s the link to the sun jacket: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/baby-high-sun-jacket?p=60296-0 some of the better rash guards we have bought for the kiddos come from polarn o pyret! they have great ones. the honest company also has some great spf ones we have been impressed with as well! good luck!

  9. Sandra

    • TAZA

thank you alyssa! i get my bangs trimmed by renee at jude & me salon. i love her. she’s the best.

So much cuteness and happiness, it’s contagious! Pic nice in the parks in the summer is so brilliant. I can’t wait to do more of them in London too. I love that velcro ball game, we have one at my parents’ in France and the kids love playing with it too! I think I must try to buy one for us here in London too as even hubby and I have fun playing with it;) So nice for you to have your sister around. Is she visiting or does she live near you in NYC? The kids must love spending time with their auntie! Julie xx

I know what you mean about the heat! UGH! And I’ve wanted to say this for (literally!) years… I always wonder if you are incredibly cold-natured? I know this is so totally random. But I often notice you wearing what I consider “hot” clothing in the summer – jeans, wool hats, 3 quarter sleeves… Am I crazy for noticing this? Probably. But I live in Florida, so most of my clothing choices in summer are based on whether or not I will literally heat to death while wearing it. :)

  13. Nicole

Love this! I’m going to be annoying too and ask where that giant bubble wand is from. I’m praying Amazon ?. My youngest Konrad is your Conrads age and he is obsessed with bubbles.

    • TAZA

we found it at our local toy store but i’m sure there is one similar on amazon!!

  14. jessie

You’ve had me wishing I could try Shake Shack for years, especially that delicious looking sandwich! I just found out that they’re opening two locations in my city (Houston) and I’m SO excited!! :)

  21. amy

hi, i am just curious, do you wear shorts? honestly, just being nosy because it’s so hot but i only recall you wearing pants or dresses so i figured maybe it is against your religion?

  22. Jasmine

I’m the same way in the summer, I only want to eat “light” foods: fruit, (pasta) salad, sushi and ice cream. Hope you all enjoy your weekend at the farm! x

  23. Laura

I am so in love with your bangs!! Do you have any tips for those of us attempting to pull them off? (I have a full bang but i struggle with them everyday! ). Also….how do you keep your hats on? That sounds like a dumb question but whenever o wear them back (bc of the bangs) I feel like they fal off! :). Love all of your accounts! -Laura

  24. Marney

Oh warm weather! We are heading into Winter here in the Antipodes. New Zealand Winters are mild, a least in Auckland it never snows, but I am not a fan of Winter. So jelly of your warm weather outings!

  25. Another happy day! Great photos.

  26. Sara

Love this post! It has truly been so amazing seeing everyone in your family grow. I’ve been following your blog since before Eleanor was born and I just adore your family!

Just a note, the links provided aren’t working for all. Myself and a friend tried on our separate MacBook’s and the links go nowhere :(. Just wanted to mention this incase there is a glitch.

  27. Jessie Bellavia

Josh’s white shoes! Where are they from? Common Projects perhaps?

  28. Love velcro toss and catch! Looks like a super fun day. We just moved to the south, because we love sunshine and heat, but now I’m all “Man, it’s too hot!” Well, most of the year it’s gorgeous, though, so I guess we just suffer through the summer. Thanks for sharing your day!

  29. Emmy

I have tried to go to Central Park a few times but man it is HOT outside! I knew east coast summers would be hot but ahh. My bangs are permanently the worst haha.
