we spent the long weekend in DC, visiting our old favorite spots and places from when we lived there, and seeing some family members who live in the area and old friends, too. we hadn’t been back for 2 years, so it was long overdue and i was doing a happy dance all week in anticipation.
we rented a car and hoped to be on the road before noon towards DC, but yeah, packing up three kids, three carseats and all the ‘stuff’ we needed…. we didn’t get going until after 3PM. life with three is teaching us a thing or two about chaos. if we make it anywhere on time this year, i’m buying the entire world donuts!
the first thing on our itinerary for DC was stopping by 2amy’s for lunch. it is my all time favorite eatery and it didn’t disappoint me. still, my all time favorite eatery. we split some suppli a telefono, polpettine/meatballs, roasted olives and a couple of margherita pizzas. in-between the chaotic moments of sitting down at a restaurant trying to entertain our three little ones, there were moments where i really got to enjoy my delicious meal, making it the highlight of my week…
You are very adorable <3

I’ve loved watching your family grow! I’m currently pregnant with my second child and I can’t help but feel guilty for my 3 year old. Is this normal? How did you cope with the transition to baby #2 and #3?
that last photo lol. the pizza looks delish!
We are in DC and eat at 2 Amy’s twice a month. We joke that we might be their most regular, regulars, haha! It is the BEST!!! Hope you had a fun time revisiting your fav spots!
What a fun day! Little Conrad is just darling. Also, those meatballs are amazing!

Looks like a fun day and the food looks awesome. –Hanna Lei
was it conrad-approved? ;)
oh how I love and miss 2amys! Used to live right around the corner until we moved :( Now that I’m pregnant with my first I could do some serious damage there!

Food heaven!

Those little pajamas! So sweet. We’re heading to DC in March — I’m already looking forward to it!
Always, Anita
Conrad is not in the mood.
I love that you take your babies everywhere! My sister in law doesn’t want to move her kids from home and while I respect her decision… well, I wish I could see my nephew and my niece a little more and we could do fun things together!

Everything at that restaurant looks delicious!
We should always return to places where we’ve been happy! I love going back to places after a long time, it brings such great memories. I’m doing the same thing in February, going back to Lisbon, Portugal, where we used to live for 3.5 years before moving to London, UK.

I LOVE 2AMY’S!! we live just down the street and they never disappoint. and one of the best parts is you can bring anyone (your baby, your grandma, your visiting college friends) and never feel out of place. and, if you drink, they have a fizzy red wine (served cold!) called gragnano that is so much fun!
You need to get over to Pupatella in Arlington next time you’re in town! 2Amy’s is pretty good, but Pupatella is easily the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.
Your family is beautiful! I love the silly photos – they’re fabulous. God bless you and I hope you get to squeeze in more fun trips soon!
Warm Regards,
Alexandra

Why do you have Australia political advertising on your site?We have a state election coming up – and there is the opposition party on one of my favourite blogs! PS: Congrats on the birth of your darling little boy xx
hi! we’ve filtered our ads so there shouldn’t be any political ads on our site. we will take a look at our filters again!
Naomi, you says it is chaos lately but you make it seem so effortless!!! You even have lipstick on!!! lol… Do you have somebody helping you in NYC, like a nanny? Im about to have baby #2 but a little scared of not having any help. How do you do it???
that’s nice of you. ha! i put lipstick on everyday to feel put together even when i feel i’m not. we don’t have a nanny but since my husband is working from home these days, he is a huge help when i need him!
Aw what a great trip! You are all so freakin cute!

Super cute! Wish I could have ran into you while you were in Philly!!

You travel a lot, and you reside in NYC. Therefor you walk a lot. I’m searching for a cute and comfortable walking shoe, something that can go from casual to dressy. I love the look of saltwaters but I have a very narrow foot and they just don’t work. I need something that doesn’t run and can stand all day touring. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!
i’ve found that a shoe like an oxford, that has just a slight lift in the back but is still flat, is awesome for all day walking around nyc!
Way to go! Oh man getting to places is a real problem. Our kiddos are homeschooled but one day a week we go to a co-op- it doesn’t start til 9 and I have yet to make it even semi on time. I don’t know how people do it!

As a Washingtonian, I love Two Amys ; the line: not too much. Hope you didn’t wait long to get a table.
Glad to see you guys back in DC even for just a little while.
we try to go for lunch over dinner so avoid the crazy table wait!
After a recent trip to NYC and eating exclusively at places you recommended on the blog I am feeling a Washington trip coming on! You eat at the best places. Lol.
Where is Conrad’s little outfit from? It’s really cute!

The food looks delicious!! It’s so nice taking a physical trip down memory lane, isn’t it? The organising will get a little easier with time – although I still find we are late for everything even though our youngest two are now 4! x
That’s so fun you all got to go back! I love your blouse where is it from?
looks like you have already got traveling with 3 little people down pat!!
How fun it must be to revisit some of your favorite places with E and S! Love the photos, thank you for sharing.

Hi Naomi,
As a fellow hat lover I always admire your hats. But I always have a hard time finding beanies that are cute and that I like. Where do you find your beanies? I love the black one your wearing and also the pink one in your pictures on Instagram? Thank you! And congrats on baby Conrad he is a cutie!
thanks! the black one is from ASOS and the pink one is from american apparel.
I love going to dc. All the amazing free stuff to see at the Smithsonian! It’s so much fun. I never ate at 2amys before tho. I was just thinking about planning a trip there soon. I might just have to add this stop to the itinerary! Thanks for the tip!
