our family is honored to be a part of FEED’s holiday campaign, all about coming together this holiday season.  josh and i love what FEED stands for, the principle that one person and one purchase can make such a big difference in a fight against world hunger (since being founded, FEED has given over 85 million meals worldwide!)

we’ve joined together with a number of other people as part of their holiday campaign to help make sure littles around the world have the nutritious food they need to grow, learn and play like we, as a family, are able to do every day. from our campaign photo above, our FEED bags, bracelets and pouch provides 415 meals!  you can see more from the holiday campaign here.

to celebrate, and help give back, FEED is offering one lucky reader a $300 credit to shop whichever FEED bags, jewelry, pouches or other items you might like for yourself or to give this holiday season.  you can see how many meals each item on their site gives to someone in need. it’s pretty incredible!

to enter to win, leave a comment below telling us how you love to come together during this holiday season.  the giveaway will close 1 week from today.  the winner will be drawn at random and emailed directly next tuesday, december 16th. (ps. we’re also hosting a separate giveaway on instagram today as well if you’d like to enter there, too!)

thank you again to FEED for asking us be a part of something so meaningful this holiday, and good luck to those entering the giveaway!

My favorite parts of Christmas are finding the best small tree for my boyfriend’s house and finding the best small ornaments to decorate it together. Every year we celebrate our anniversary ice skating in Bryant Park where we had our first date, and this year he gets to experience my family Christmas Eve party, which has always been one of my favorites!

  2. Maureen

Coming together means my older sister and her family who live in Kansas, and my younger sister and her family who live in Memphis all come home to Nebraska. I love coming together on Christmas and I cherish the time we get to spend together as a family.

  3. Laura

Since we have three days of Christmas in Germany I´ll visit lots of family!Christmas eve is our “day of gifts”- they are exchanged after dinner. I´ll spend the day home with my mom, dad and younger sister and will be responsible for the meal. Christmas day I get to meet my boyfriend´s family again. :) The second day of christmas we´ll host my family in the apartment in which we just moved together. Exciting! :) In general we are expecting lots of food! But hey, who is not? :D

fav part of the holidays – just being together. Forever.

  5. Samantha

If were all in the same country for christmas we like to spend the day at home together opening gifts and relaxing. We usually play with our gifts or some wii or board games until its time for christmas dinner. Its hard to even sit down for dinner as a family most nights, so I really look forward to holidays were everyone has off work (unless dad is called out to clear the Buffalo snow) and we can all relax at home together! Happy Holidays Davis family :)

Purchasing christmas gifts from those who give a portion of the proceeds to charities has become my family’s come together tradition. We’ll cook dinner and discuss different companies and charities we feel connected to that year and purchase our gifts from them. In the past we’ve purchased MICHE bags to support Gilda’s Club (a supportive community for those battling cancer), People Water, and Tom’s shoes. Sadly I was laid-off this year, so gift credit to FEED would be helping me to help give back… and that would really mean so much to me :)

We love doing secret Santa for friends or family that may be struggling a little each year. It’s so fun to pick out gifts for others and imagine their surprise/excitement when they find the packages on their doorstep!

  8. elissa

My mom and boyfriends mom passed down some of our childhood ornaments to us. I love the process of unwrapping and hanging all the ornaments. Mine remind me of a special time and place. I love hearing stories of my boyfriend’s childhood and memories of his ornaments as well.

Holidays are for getting together, sitting around the table at Christmas with your extended family (Greek Family!) and eating, eating and then … again eating! This year we will have two new members at table (sort of) my daughter and my nephiew (my sister’s son)

I saw the photos on your blog and went directly to the website to order gifts for my family. My father passed away a little more than a week ago so coming together this year means something entirely different for our family. Gifts don’t matter as much, and when you feel helpless the best thing you feel you can do is give to others that may need more than you. I am glad you guys are a part of this. During this holiday season and beyond, I hope to help others find a little more happiness in life’s hardships. So, thank you for helping me find this idea.

I like to come together during the holidays by volunteering at our community’s “santas village” this is where children from all ages groups come to meet Santa, make cookies, write letters, see live reindeer and so much more! I volunteer with my little sister so it’s brings us closer during the holidays :)

My extended family gathers together–whether over the holidays or other times throughout the year–around pie. We’ve had “pie parties” for as long as I can remember.
