mormon helping hands, during hurricane sandy.

we left for italy a few hours before hurricane sandy hit our city.  while i’m thankful we were able to make it out safely, i’m feeling a little bit guilty that we were overseas eating gelato every day when so many back home were hit hard by the storm.  i don’t think i realized the severity of sandy until we returned home on sunday and began to really catch up on the aftermath of the hurricane.
our friend, and my husband’s old roommate from back in his single days, made this beautiful video of some of the recovery efforts put on in the city by members of our faith.  i’m not sharing this video to promote my faith in your face or discredit any others who have been helping night and day the past few weeks to rebuild what sandy destroyed, but i found this film to be so inspirational, it brought tears to my eyes. whether you are of our faith or think we are complete crazies (hey now!), this is what it’s all about, people.  a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who have selflessly served during this time of need.
  1. Love this Naomi! Thank you for standing for God, and sharing your faith with all.

  2. Angie

I saw your sister there! She was sweet, she came over and said hi. I totally forgot she was a missionary out here! So cool.

  3. This video is so beautiful and what those people do… this is just unspeakable.
    Love this.

  4. What a beautiful video. I was bawling through the whole thing. We decided we had to do something to help the church even though we couldn't fly over there and help ourselves. Thank you for reminding us of the need to reach out and serve our fellow man.

  5. oooh i loved this video

  6. Very heart touching, I want to share Hurricane Sandy Relief Page, this site is offering medication in affected areas to those facing shortage of drugs or other essential supplies.

  7. Do you know… I'm not Mormon… but I find myself drawn toward Mormon people. Their (your) values and morals are ones I can identify with and respect… even if our religions differ.

Great video, it's so wonderful seeing people pull together for each other.
