today: what i’m thankful for.

thankful there is still a baby in my tummy. sometimes it’s still so hard for me to grasp that this really is happening and i really am having this little baby! and soon!
thankful for that extra hour of sleep on sunday (thank you daylight savings.)
thankful for a snoozed alarm clock so we can stay in bed a little longer while waiting to feel baby kick or somersault or chassé across my belly.
thankful for sabon’s dead sea salt scrub. (if you’re pregnant, and even if you’re not, i highly recommend this.)
thankful kingsley only needed to be taken out at 6:30am this morning to potty, and not 2am + 4am + 6am like that other nightmare of a night the night before.
thankful my little sisters are coming to town this weekend!
thankful that it’s november, and thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. i love this holiday (and love me some stuffing and cranberry sauce and all the dark meat from the turkey.)
  1. aww congrats again on the lil baby!! Have fun with your sisters!!! That extra hour of sleep ruled!! =)

  2. Lauren

Enjoy that belly while it's still there! Pregnancy is such an amazing time because you get the baby all to yourself for 9 months!

  6. carly.

those are definitely all lovely things to be thankful for! it's funny here americans talk about their thanksgiving in a few weeks as us canadians was almost a month ago now! dark meat is my favourite too…mmm yum. i want to have a second thanksgiving, hehe.

can't wait to see photos of the baby…i'm sure he/she is going to be adorable. i mean, look at the parents, how could it not be!

  7. Alivia

I am thankful for your blog! :) And I love/appreciate that you describe the babies movements in ballet terms!

  8. becky

That picture is divine! I am so glad that you and baby are doing well. Today I am thankful for families and for lovers, for time to read and time to write and for the seasons – I could not be more excited about the cold weather and Christmas! (I'm English so don't get thanksgiving but it sounds like so much fun!) I hope you and baby and Josh have a lovely little time with your sisters :)

  9. Meg

dark meat is the best… i eat it exclusively :) it's thanksgiving, you might as well indulge!

  10. Kristina

Pretty sure dogs do a good job of preparing you for kids . . . or at least waking you up in the middle of the night! We've had a few nights like that with Bunny. Love the color of your dress/shirt in that picture! So pretty!

  11. You are still the cutest pregnant girl EVER!!! and with turkey, the dark meat is my favorite. YUMMY!!

  12. Hey there beautiful couple!!! I am in VA.. Ever consider doing the 2010 DC Tweed Ride. Every time I see something on it.. I think of you two!!! Check it out! (Maybe you could be in the bandstands….)

  13. Kalen

Sounds like Kingsley is prepping you for waking up with the baby ;) That nightmare of a night will be your life… LOL :P But it goes by fast and you'll actually miss some of the bonding that happens late at night once they sleep all the way thru! Can't wait for your little one to be here :)

  14. There's nothing in the world like your little one moving around inside you, giving you little love taps all day :) And AMEN to the day-light savings and dark meat of the turkey! Thanks for being such an optimistic person and reminding us to be thankful for the little things :)

  15. this post is inspiring :) i'm thankful for you sharing this!

  16. Whitney

oh that extra hour of sleep was incredible!

i've been wanting to do a post like this for thanksgiving.
    what a great holiday.
to bad we americans tend to forget that grateful attitude unless it's thanksgiving.
(i'm trying to work on that!)

  17. I feel you on the Kingsly front…had to get up 4 times with our puppy last night and it's not making me feel very thankful today. Thanks for reminding me there are other good things going on in life :)

  18. Shorty

  22. at least kingsley is giving you some waking up late at night practice! honestly, those late night feedings were some of my favorite times with my little girl, and now that i have another on the way i am actually getting excited for those moments again! i NEVER thought i would feel that way. so happy for your little family.

  23. Jennifer

  24. MAMA B.

my body was weird and we were so worried we would lose our first baby when i was carrying him. every morning we would high five and say "we're still pregnant! we've still got a baby in there!"

so much to be thankful for.

  25. Kris

This photo is one of the most delightful pregnancy photos that I've seen yet! I really love the colours of it too.

  33. I love that your baby chassés in your tummy!

  34. Moriah

i am obsessed with sabon's. every time i am in nyc, i load up my suit case, because they don't have one in minnesota. i think it's a perfectly good reason to move out of minnesota.

  35. Allison

Soon you won't be able to see your feet when you take a picture! So cute. Congrats on the baby. And all the other stuff that's going good in your life. :)
