because we did a bunch of the 4th of july events in d.c. last year, and we weren’t really up for the excessive heat and crowds this year (are we getting boring or what?) we took it easy over the weekend celebrating america.
we grabbed some burgers at good stuff, took a few walks around the hill to admire all the red, white and blue, spent time with friends, churched on sunday and watched the fireworks over the washington monument on the rooftop of josh’s office building that evening.
and it was quite a nice weekend. hope your 4th was lovely! god bless america.

your blog posts always make me hungry :)
    awesome pictures by the way!

  2. I love the picture of the beer cans on the newspaper dispenser (What are those things called anyway?!?).

  3. We went out to our friends farm to avoid the crowds and heat! So, you may be less lame than we are. :) Also, how dare you show pictures of good stuff burgers while I'm hungry – they're so good! Also on my list to try BGR in Dupont, have you been?

  4. You're not boring at all! Those hamburgers look sooo delicious. Glad you had a fun 4th!

I've lived here for three fourth of julys and I still haven't done the mall fireworks thing. I think roofs are totally the best place to watch them anyways!

  6. Wowza! DC sure is beautiful around this time and those fireworks are gorg. Loved my long weekend!
