port washington, long island

last wednesday i had a lunch meeting in long island.
i took the LIRR out to port washington.
it made me realize i should have ventured out to long island
more often during all my years living in new york city.
so lovely. and it presented plenty of photo opportunities.
i am so in love with railroads.
and i decided before i die i’d like to have a picnic on a railroad track
during a sunny afternoon in the middle of nowhere.
i think that would be just lovely.
you are more than welcome to join me…
i’d adore the company.
p.s. we love DC!! (surprise, surprise…)
thanks for all the positive energy, love and wishes
sent our way this weekend as we moved!
we love you!

  3. what a great photograph, i love the distressed quality. and as far as railroads go, there’s a deserted one not too far from my place here and i definitely am with you on their wonderful appeal.

Those railroad picnic pictures would be so gorgeous and raw…I anxiously await them. Happy moving, I’m excited to see the adventures that DC has in store for you and Josh. Much luck!!!

  5. There are plenty of old railroads in the middle of the beautiful, green countryside in Germany!

  15. So happy to hear you arrived here in DC safe and sound. I was thinking of your move and thought to myself, “Oh no, it’ll be raining in the area when they move! Such a glummy welcome.” :( But I’m glad to know you love it! :)

I’m not sure if you got my former comment – about the owl teacups – I couldn’t find them in the two Anthro’s in the area (DC and NoVA). So sorry. :( I’ll keep you in mind whenever I find any other great owl deals!
