today i am thankful for many things.

  • for joe lanteri’s jazz class at steps this afternoon. also, for his kind and thoughtful words after class to me… they couldn’t have come at a better time.
  • for a mom and dad who have really been there for me the past few days.
  • for a sister who puts her judgements aside and has never said, “i told you so.”
  • for having primary songs stuck in my head all week. how blessed i feel to be learning new primary songs each sunday.
  • for friends who keep in touch while they are away.
  • for the bed sheet held up by wall tacs currently covering my window since the curtain rod magically fell down last night on my head and broke. i really like my privacy.
  • for mom’s rice pudding recipe. it was really good.
  • for the ting tings. wow, i just love their music. {see photo.}
  • for the ensign. for all the wonderful stories and messages i loved reading today. especially learning more about our new prophet, president monson.
  • for prayers. for the strength heavenly father gives me when i talk to him and open up and do my best. i sure am happy he is there.
  • for air conditioning. i can’t say enough good things about the “blast” setting.
  • for my family. i just love my siblings and parents so much. i miss them when we are apart.
  • for the gospel in my life. i am a very lucky girl to have it. it’s so beautiful. i feel blessed.
  1. How is my beautiful Naomi doing? I truly need a phone update. You sound a little sad. But you also sound really good. I love your thankful lists. They always want me to feel more grateful for the little things.

I have never heard of this band you love. I will have to check them out.

Also, still can’t believe you are on a first name basis with Joe Lanteri. How in the world does Naomi end up being everybody’s prodigy? I hate you sometimes.

Please call. I’d love an update. I’d love to know you are well… sorry about your cowboy boots.

This is a great list. Keep them coming. I miss you!

  3. Anna

I just have to say thank you for your list of gratitude. I am grateful examples like you in my life to remind me that I have much to be thankful for.

  4. Dear Naomi,

I love you. I miss you. You are so cool.

What a sweet post. Gratitude makes the hardest times bearable. I am a true believer in that! I love the gospel, too. I had an experience today while I was preparing a RS lesson that reminded me (again) how much Heavenly Father loves us. How much He is willing to help us. How often He helps us despite ourselves.
By the way, “Hi!” I’m Andrea. I love your blog. You guys are super cute. And I can only dream of NYC so I live vicariously through you. And I’ve been dying to know. Did you or didn’t you cut your hair. I’ve been very tempted myself lately. Because it’s insanely hot and humid here in TN.
Good luck with everything. I wish you the best.
