while in DC last week to see the cherry blossoms, we stayed at our friend’s house on capitol hill, close by our old home! it is always so good to walk around the old neighborhood, especially when it is in full bloom! poor josh and his allergies! haha! his allergies were always a mess in DC, and we were reminded of that again last week....Read more
if you’ve been following along on instagram or snapchat, you probably know we are in DC right now. we drove down the other night for a day or two so we could catch the cherry blossoms while they are still in peak. they never disappoint. and they make me feel all sorts of happy. it was a little windy out while we were there so the loose petals were blowing in the wind around us while the kids ran near the tidal basin and the sun started peaking out....Read more
we are still in california, in san diego at the moment! i wanted to share some photos from our time in LA last week while i had a minute. a lot of these are iPhone photos (oh, the good ol’ iPhone! whatever would i do without you!) since we were mostly running around LA to and from meetings and didn’t take the big real camera with us everywhere (does anyone else call their regular camera their “real” camera?!...Read more

spending an afternoon with koalas, kangaroos, baby alligators and a python was the biggest treat! we try to make an effort to have fun and educational experiences with our kids and spend time to learn about the rules, circumstances, and views on visiting animals like these. we chose to visit the australian reptile park which we found via the australian koala foundation (savethekoala.com) which is working hard to help the koalas and raise awareness about habitat destruction....Read more

without a doubt, our day at the australian open while in melbourne was dreamy. when we started talking about making this dream trip of ours a reality, we knew we needed to make sure we timed it to be there for the open. i’m so glad we did! the arena is much smaller than most tennis stadiums (the US open arena feels twice as big) so we were able to snag seats on the third row which made the entire experience feel a little more intimate....Read more

hi! i wanted to share some photos from our time in cuzco, peru! the entire city was so charming and colorful, and everyone was so friendly, it was hard to leave. we had initially planned on heading straight to machu picchu from lima, to help get adjusted to the elevation before spending a few days in cuzco (which has an elevation of over 11,000 feet!) but once we flew into cuzco, we found out that there was a strike happening in the area, so no trains or taxis were available for a few days because the roads were blocked with rocks....Read more
