it felt like a dream, most of our early mornings and late afternoons on the beach last week in puerto rico. it wasn’t all relaxation and bliss – i mean, nothing keeps you more in check and on your toes than two 11 month old babies that are the most curious little beasts who enjoy holding, tasting and face planting into the warm sand as well as crawling as fast as their little bods will allow towards the crashing waves with such excitement you’d follow suit if you didn’t know any better....Read more

i know i’ve shared a few posts already from our trip to italy (with our full length video shared here), but i’ve rounded up the remaining photos from rome with some links of what we enjoyed most during our time in rome and will be sharing both of those today. apparently, i really gravitate towards all things scooters and tiny cars, but i tried to narrow down the number of scooter photos i took for you below....Read more
hello! i finished compiling all of the videos from our camera (and phones) into one place from our week in rome, italy last month! gosh, it sure brought back a flood of memories putting this together of moments and tastes and places which already seem foggy over here in my memory. so so thankful for the easiness of whipping out a phone on occasion and having it hold onto a memory for me (and my children) so we can have it forever....Read more
something that we did years ago when eleanor was 1 and samson was only 5 months, was visit a parmigiano-reggiano factory in parma, italy together. it’s something we talk about frequently ever since as well, since our 3 older kids request parmigiano-reggiano cheese with all their pastas, and something we have stocked in our fridge even if we’re running low on everything else....Read more
during our time in florence, we rented a car and did a little 36-hour trip up to parma to check out how they make parmigiano-reggiano cheese (insane! can’t wait to share) as well as the castle in torrechiara. both of these mini adventures were major hits with our children (and us!) and a big highlight of our time in italy. ...Read more
we have been in florence the last few days as we’ve continued our adventure in italy. i have been to florence only one other time, but it is perhaps my favorite city in italy and it’s been such a treat to get to be back here with my family. yesterday, our family took a little pasta making class at a small restaurant in the city and we had so much fun!...Read more
hello from rome! i’m in a hotel room right now and should totally be sleeping because my babies are (I WILL REGRET THIS IN A FEW HOURS), but i also allowed myself to drink bunch of cokes today (did you know i gave up soda on january 1st?! i don’t think i blogged about it so maybe not....Read more
while going through our photos from disney world back in november, i went through pictures we took at the pool between the disney parks as well. GOSH, why did i do this to myself on one of the coldest days in january?! the hotel pool (with its own lazy river and splash pad and two water slides) was the sweet spot of our florida trip for sure....Read more
hey remember how we went to disney world in florida a couple months ago (the first week of november) but i never blogged about it? those few days at the disney parks really took it out of me. i feel like i’m just barely recovering enough from our couple of days there to finally revisit it and share all about it on the blog....Read more
good morning! like in years past, i’ve rounded up all of our favorite things to do over the holidays in NYC with photos old and new, since it’s such a great time of year to visit and i get so many questions about holiday activities.
this time of year is truly so magical and for those who are heading this way, i hope you have the very best time....Read more
do you ever feel like you grew up not really loving your home town or state, and that only after you leave for a long time do you realize that you took it all for granted? that you never really appreciated everything it was offering you until all these years later? that’s how i feel whenever i visit utah and go on a hike by a waterfall or drive up into the mountains on a little road through a forest of pines or aspens… my family camped regularly in the beautiful outdoors while i was growing up, and our backyard was literally a stunning mountainside, but somehow i usually just always complained whenever we went on a hike or out to explore when i was little....Read more
we arrived home to the city yesterday from several days spent in beautiful utah with my family. it was an incredible few days of family time, with lots of catching up, lots of eating (it’s what we do best!) and lots of time outdoors in some unbelievable colors as autumn is just wrapping up her peak season right now....Read more
took too many photos at the boardwalk alone, so posting them separately here! this place was beautiful.
i could take her photo all day long and never grow tired of it. this beautiful baby girl lost 3 teeth just before we left on this trip and she sounded and looked like an entirely new person as she spoke and smiled each day....Read more
a few weekends ago, after stopping by the cranberry harvest, we drove onto sandwich, massachusetts (i mean, for the name alone, we had to go!) and then onto provincetown. the trip mostly consisted of searching for really good lobster rolls, looking for lighthouses and trying our best to spot as many crabs and other critters along the beach and shoreline. ...Read more
so many photos from our lake trip! can’t believe this place is less than a two hour drive from the city. it was the perfect send off to summer, as we crossed a few last things off our family’s summer bucket list while there. first and foremost, josh’s only item he contributed to said bucket list… to “jump in a lake.” i sat on the little sand beach beside the lake with both babies one afternoon watching him swim out into the middle of the lake, and swim freely, occasionally diving off the diving board and jumping, cannon balling and diving into the lake so many times....Read more
we spent a few days last week up in upstate new york at mohonk lake. it was the perfect summer send off, and i have a million photos from our time there i want to share! starting off with some photos from the unbelievably majestic flower garden that was so pristine, i didn’t want to leave it....Read more

wanted to hop on here and share a bunch of photos from our first day in park city, utah! the kids have a long winter break from school around this time of year, and so we kept up with last year’s tradition and booked a trip to utah again for the break. this time around though, we’ve been really lucky to have incredible snow during our stay (dare i say, the greatest snow on earth?!...Read more
one of my most frequently asked questions these days is around finding deals on airfare, especially since we are a family of 5 (and 5 tickets add up!!!!) but have gotten the hang of finding cheaper airfare to destinations around the world, which has honestly become one of josh’s and my favorite pastimes. of course, what one considers a cheap airline ticket will vary from one person to the next, and i think we have an advantage living in new york city which is a big hub for many international airlines, but i do think it’s possible to find cheap tickets no matter where you are and where you want to go....Read more

we spent a morning exploring the volcano tubes in snow canyon state park and it was definitely one of our family’s favorite things we did while in st. george. it’s only about a half a mile hike in, and then if you’re brave and wanna climb down into the dark black tunnels (which they call tubes), it’s a little more adventurous and we somehow got talked into doing it by josh....Read more
we have spent the last couple of days in the most beautiful place! we have been staying in a little house that josh found on the top of a cliff overlooking the prettiest pocket of a bay and beach full of the most turquoise and clear water! we are in cala banyalbufar, mallorca, spain!
while we originally anticipated exploring more of mallorca since there was a lot we wanted to see and do, we had such a fun day at the beach by the little home we rented on our first day, we decided to just settle in for a few days and really relax at the home and beach, and not really do anything else. ...Read more
this photo of samson cracks me up so much because he was like, mama, take a picture of me in the air. and then this serious face with the arms folded was not what i was expecting as he jumped! life is so fun with you, samson rex davis!

we loved visiting parc güell in barcelona! josh and i were both so excited to see this place, which is covered in mosaics, buildings, sculptures and steps by the one and only gaudi. the kids loved it as well. when josh asked her how these building made her feel, eleanor shared how it looked like waves and the boys talked about how they liked all the colors. ...Read more
this family photo is a bit blurry, but it might be my favorite photo from our trip so far! this was taken at the very end of our first day exploring barcelona and i feel like the kids faces say everything.
so much to share! and i don’t even know where to start. i shared a little on my instagram last night, but thank you to everyone who has sent little comments or emails checking in to make sure we are okay!...Read more
on friday, the kiddos and i joined a bunch of our friends bright and early at 7 in the morning to head over to grand central terminal and catch the metro north train to greenwich, connecticut. it was a trek, but it was all done in the name of a beach day, and that’s something i can definitely get behind....Read more
