there are many things i obsess over and love in life. this blog is full of them. from the obvious ones like my family and new york and a good donut or slice of pizza (or any sort of carb in general), to sleeping in, a solid work out at the gym or a night out with girlfriends which are also good contenders. i’m honestly not that hard to please.
also high up on that list of things i love and obsess over is the color yellow and a good purchase from J.Crew. i think anyone who has followed along on my blog for a long time or a short time has probably noticed both of these things. ;) i was over the moon excited when J.Crew asked me to style a new J.Crew classic in my own way, especially since they have no shortage of the best colors and patterns in their shop right now that i’ve been dying to get my hands on (and so much good yellow!).
i took this fun navy polka dot cold shoulder top that has a sweet ruffle detail and paired it with this yellow regent blazer, these darling berry pumps and these high rise point sur culotte jeans. since i’m not a huge jewelry wearer, i added this liberty floral scarf around my neck to give it a little more detail. i also love how the floral print brings all the colors in the outfit together and gives it a little personality. not that the yellow blazer isn’t personality enough, but you know what i mean. ;)
i think the ruffles on this polka dot cold shoulder top are so fun to see poking out from under the blazer. i think it adds a fun feminine flare to the look.
i’ve really struggled with wearing anything outside a sneaker lately (#momlife!) but when i was looking for a shoe to complete this look, i kept coming back to these d’Orsay berry pumps. it’s such a fun print (they also have it in the most darling swimsuit right here) and i figured getting some new fancy pumps is a good excuse to make some date night plans so i have an exciting place to wear them. (eh hem. hi josh!)
thank you so much to J.Crew for having me share my own take on a few of their beautiful pieces! one of my favorite things about J.Crew is how you can mix and match practically any of their pieces together and not go wrong. they do such a good job of incorporating fun prints and stripes and patterns into their collection each season while keeping it classic and simple at the same time.
