spring has sprung!

LOVE TAZA SPRING CENTRAL PARK ZOO-3

these photos are from a glorious day of sunshine last week where we were able to shed our bigger puffy coats and enjoy some of that vitamin D in central park together while we played on the rocks and visited the animals at the petting zoo. it felt and looked and smelled like spring, and i couldn’t get enough of it.

our family actually really struggles planning and successfully executing outings or playdates after school during the week. everyone is just so tired and exhausted from the long school day and since there is usually an absence of sunshine during these colder months, it only makes sense to head home and do something together indoors before dinner and bed. but with warmer days finally creeping up on us, we figured we’d attempt to stay out and wander a bit together through central park on this day. honestly, we almost turned around to go back home three different times before we even got to central park, but i’m glad we persisted and went (and had plenty of healthy snacks on hand, because i swear if anyone is moody it’s just because they are hungry! at least that’s how it works in my case!). we had a great time once we were inside the park, and everyone was back to their happy selves getting reacquainted with the park we spend so many hours in during the warmer months of the year. over all, a really good day.

josh almost didn’t come with us to the zoo because we had a lot of work we were trying to finish up for the day, but i’m so glad he took a break too and came with us. life is better when papa is with us.

that afternoon sunshine felt and looked so pretty. i used to always be very partial to autumn, but spring has really been speaking to my soul the last few years when she finally rolls around. i’m so grateful for her.

samson soaked up all the sun by resting at the top of the rocks the kids climbed together. it was so sweet to see how content he was just laying there quietly by himself feeling the sun on his face.

so glad we are almost out of that “uuuugggggh” phase i tend to always go through in new york city during february and march when city life only feels hard and trying. i’m so overly dramatic though. even when she’s brutally cold, she’s still my favorite. i’m sorry if i complained extra the past few weeks about the weather. promise i’ll be in a better mood now that the sun is shining again. ;)

    Hello Naomi,
Those pictures are beautiful, looks like you had a wonderful family time there.
Did you use your canon 5D mark III to take those pictures?
Could you tell me which size you use for your blog posts pictures?
    Thanks

  3. Tracy Mansfield

Hi Taza! I was wondering where sweet Eleanor’s shirt is from. It looks like the solar system and my daughter Charlotte just finished a space unit in preschool. I thought it would be a fun surprise. Thank you!!

  4. Emily

What are some of the healthy snacks you keep on hand for your littles? Always looking for more/new ideas! Thank you!

When your only choice here in NYC is to be out walking around in the cold to do anything at all, it’s TOTALLY okay to complain about it! It sure ain’t easy!

  6. I am sooo pumped for sunshine and warm weather! It finally warmed up in LA, but the past couple of days got chilly and rainy – ugh. I am loving seeing all of the flowers bloom everywhere though! They make me so happy. :)

  7. I love the two photos under the daffodils, the photo of the snapping turtle, and the second-to-last photo! I can’t wait for this Saturday. The weather forecast says that it’ll be warm and sunny! The following week will be warm but rainy. But anyways, I’m excited for spring! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Do you use lightroom presets for editing? any recommendations you can share for editing? We shoot on a 5D mark iv and love our photos, but need editing help :)

Hi Josh & Naomi, Yay for Spring!! Such beautiful photos too! What camera and lens do you use most often? I hope your Spring days come with more frequency!

  16. Ella

I agree, it feels so good to lose all those layers and bask in the sunshine. Minnesota takes its sweet time letting go of Winter that the first signs of Spring are so welcoming.

  17. Colleen
