love-taza-2016

this year was a very special one for our family. it was filled with travel and adventure, good friends and food, but most importantly, it was filled with lots of time spent together.  there was often chaos, rarely a clean apartment, and never a fully restful night of sleep for us parents here, but so thankful for this little family of mine and the happiness they bring into my every day.

with the end of the year here, i have to say a very big thank you to so many of you who follow along here! i tell josh all the time that even when the internet is sometimes terrible, my readers are the very best and i love you guys so much. see you in 2017!!!

ps. a few of my favorite photos from 2015 right here.  also, would love to hear from you guys in the comments below if there is anything you’d like to see more of in 2017 from me! happy new year!

  1. Sorcha

Happy Hogmanay (from Scotland), wishing you and your family an even more wonderful 2017 to come.

  2. Thank you for being you! You and your fam inspire me to love and enjoy life! Keep doing what your doing girl!

  3. Mindee

2016 what a great year it looks like it was for your awesome family! Happy 2017 tomorrow, I hope its as great a year as this past one. Loving all the pics, it captures for much joy.

  4. Kate

Your blog has inspired me to write my own! It’s a little different but it’s about motherhood and doing the best we can. Thank you for the inspiration! I hope you and your family have a wonderful new year and I look forward to reading more about your adventures!

  5. Corina

Carry on with the great work, Davis family! You are amazing.
    Happy New Year!
Naomi, always keep things real. You rock

  6. Greta

I know you got older and your family is a lot different than then, but I loved your blog when you were living in D.C. I loved your posts then (the little letters, the relationship between you and Josh etc.), your clothing style and that it wasn’t so kids oriented. I’d like to read more about you and Josh (the Videos of you talking about different topics were a good start), more personal experiences (even bad ones) and less posts including your children.
    Happy new year

  7. Happy new year lovely Davis family! I can’t wait to see more of you guys’ adventures. more videos because I love them so much and just learn from you guys and make notes for the future.

    Lots and lots of love,
    Yara

  8. emily

what a fun year! i’d love to see more about how you and josh stay healthy with the kids around. i have such a hard time making the time to consistently be active and eat my best. and i have flexible childcare and a job outside the house! : ) i know it’s been a more important focus for y’all this year and i always love reading about it. happy new year, davis family!

  9. evan

Your site is a warm and cozy corner of the Web. Keep it that way :)
    Happy New Year!

  10. Jenn

You should do a meet up or a dinner event in a few main cities! Like San Francisco… Come and join us out in California!
PS: your family travel photos are my favorite. They give me the courage to take my family of five on adventures!

  11. Lisa

Hi Naomi! Sheesh, can’t believe it’s been another year! I’ve followed along since Eleanor was a wee baby so it’s just been such a pleasure to see your whole family grow. I absolutely love your parenting style and think your Little’s are just so sweet with so much personality! I really like your and Josh’s videos and always appreciate your advice and opinion on things. I’d love to see more of those videos! I especially love the ones where it feels spontaneous and not scripted. Thanks for sharing with us! Xxx

  12. Bridget

I’ve been reading your blog since the DC days, too, and I would love to see less sponsored posts, and more posts about the difficult personal experiences that you go through. Sometimes it’s so upbeat and cheerful it makes me wonder what I’m doing wrong with my life! Happy 2017 to you and to everyone else here, too.

  13. Ana

I would love to see some post about things to do in NYC with kids. Like “MoMA with kids” or “Central Park with kids”, but more than just pictures and details about your day… it will be great if you put what they offer (I know MoMA has a room where kids can make art, stroller tours, etc), prices, how easy is to have a Stroller, how kid friendly the staff is, etc.

    Happy New Year!

  14. Kairisti S.

Your blog is always so fun!! I love how everyone always seems genuinely happy and loving (and not just a blog facade).

I love seeing what your kids wear. It helps me to broaden my search from the few kids clothing stores I know. I’d love more links to where you buy their clothes from (like you do with your clothes). I try to use your links to support your blog whenever possible.

I can’t wait to read more in 2017!

    -Kairisti (care-stee)

  15. hanna

Happy New Year to you and your family –Like Hanna

  16. Veronica

Hi Naomi! I love your blog, your style and your attitude towards life. I’d like to see more on how you stay fit and eat well with children, like another follower mentioned. Also more tips on parenting and different things you find that work, especially with 3 munchkins. I have one and he’s just about to turn a year old next month!! 😍
Aside from that I love all the stuff you’re currently doing, the adventures, the family, the fashion!!
Thanks for inspiring me to be a more attentive Mom, a better person and truer to myself through my fashion and so much more.

    Xoxo!

  17. sally mae

Happy happy new year! I’ve been reading since 2008 and I am just so thrilled that you are still blogging!!!! Your site is my favorite and I’m not even going to be able to handle it when it’s over, so lets not talk about that anymore. ;) I can’t wait to see what you guys are up to in 2017!! Videos, style, travel, kiddos, motherhood…you are basically rocking all of it!

  18. Brooke

I agree with a lot of what others have said above! More videos with you and Josh discussing topics or reader questions, and I especially like the parenting advice. More on the mundane parenting things (schedules, naps, juggling multiple kids) and how you make it work, how you have found the energy to be a present and involved mom and enjoy it (so many times I feel burned out!), what you struggle with/and love about sharing so much of your family life on the blog. In the one parenting video you talked about the differences you and Josh originally had when it came to parenting and how Josh has helped you relax about certain things–I’m curious how that’s happened and helped! It’s been fun seeing the kiddos grow up! And how you and Josh have kept a strong relationship. Thanks for sharing a fun year!

  19. Suzie

I often catch up with your adventures as I’m feeding my daughter at bedtime. It’s always lovely to see such gorgeous photos of your family and gives me inspiration for the things my family can do together. Here’s to a wonderful 2017 (from a cloudy Wiltshire in England!)

  20. Vickie

    Happy New Year!

  21. Happy new year Davis family! Wish you guys all the best for 2017 :)

    xx From France

    Mélanie

  22. Merel

Happy New year from Holland! I love your blog, it makes me happy. I also read it when feeding my youngest in bed (he is Conrads age)

  23. Kate

I’d love to hear more about your kids’ experience with schools (how did you pick them, when did you apply, what are they learning, etc). I’m also interested in hearing more of what it’s like to be Morman in NYC. Are most of your friends LDS? Do you ever feel like the social scene conflicts with your religious beliefs? I love all of your posts and find them both relatable and inspiring.

  24. Laura Krapp

First of all happy new year for you all!
I would like to know how is your day a day. I am also intereseted in knowing how you fix your hair. Since I saw your braids, I make them all the time! haha the other day I spent more than 30 minutes trying to make the braid that you usually make. My hair is shorter than yours and it took me a while to make it be in the right position.
    Lots of kisses from Spain,

    Laura

  25. s.montgomery

Heyo Davis Family! I would love to see a break down of a day in the life of the Davis family. You know a hour by hour breakdown 8am to bedtime. I love the family rhythms that develop and also I’m just curious what that looks like with 3 kids! Thanks for sharing yourselves through your blog, your fam truly brightens up this internet world!

  26. Julie

Thank you so much to you and your family for sharing! My children and I love seeing what adventures you’ve been up to whether it’s out on the road or in your cozy apartment. And so much appreciation for your positive messages! There’s enough negativity in the world, I love having your blog to bring some joy, smiles and inspiration into my life. My daughter loves your children’s’ clothes! Please share where they are from when you can :)
    God bless you~

  27. Tracy

    Happy New Year!

Love your blog and your family is so cute. I would love more ilttle letters and more city adventures!

  28. Marie

Love your cute family! I’d love a series about how you and Josh work and manage the blog/being an influencer while balancing family stuff.

  29. Paige

It’s been so fun to follow your family this last year, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you guys this year!

When I discovered your blog you were pregnant with Eleanor and I’ve loved seeing your family grow! I was so excited when you had each of your babies, was sad for you when you had to say goodbye to Kingsley, and have loved following along as you moved from Washington D.C to NYC and explored the world!

Thank you for sharing with us, and thank you for keeping your blog honest. I appreciate how you make life beautiful, even when it’s hard.

Happy new year to you and yours,

    Lauren x

  33. Zeynep

Happy new year from Turkey, I love your blog, you are such an inspiration!

  34. Jasmin

Happy new year to you and your wonderful family. I would like to know more about your daily routine and how you handle the daily challenges as a mother of three.

  35. Pam

    Happy 2017, Naomi!
You and your lovely family always seem to find the way to cheer me up, can’t wait to spend another year reading your blog♥

  36. Nicole

Happy New Year to you and your family! I would love to see a vlog from a “normal” everyday. From breakfast till the end, when you go to bed. Love your blog!!!

  37. Jess

More fashion posts – how you style coats, and outfits for being outside/on the go in the day, good books you or your kids are reading, school lunch tips, heathy suppers for families, smoothie recipes, also your bunkbed and bedding are beautiful, any tips for making them/keeping them neat?

  38. Sigrid

Happy new year to you and your sweet family! I’m a huge fan of your blog and would love to read more posts about your daily life. I love the stories you post about “more everyday like things” like when your family is cooking together, when your going out for a slice of pizza or visiting a museum in the city. And I also like reading the text and sweet quotes from the kiddos. I’m looking forward to follow you and your family in 2017 from Scandinavia – you have a big fan in the cold north :-)

  39. Amanda

Been following your blog since you were first pregnant with Eleanor; thank you for continuing to share your lives with us! Seriously brings a bright spot to my day (both the good + bad things you share).

Would love to see more videos from you + Josh chatting about life, parenting, etc.! Happy New Year! :)

  40. Claire

Happy new year Naomi! I wish you and your family a wonderful year full of joy, health, love and success.

I can’t believe I’m following your blog since S was just a little (and very smiling) baby.
I would love to see more of your little letters (loved them so much), the talks with you and Josh and to know a little more about which people/blog/or whatever inspire you everyday.
Oh and I would love to know a little more about your Ukrainian roots (found it with the recipe! It’s awesome).

And nothing related but have to say that I love the fact that you and Josh are not given your child a gendered education or at least whats seems to be close to it for me.

    All the best from France,
    Claire.

  41. Ali

    Less sponsored posts, more real
    Life.

  42. Emily

I’ve been reading your blog for years – it’s so cool to follow along and see the kiddos grow up! I really like the videos of you and Josh clowning around. You two have such awesome chemistry and it’s adorable. More of those please!

    Happy New Year, Naomi!

  43. Happy New Year! It was so inspiring and fun to follow your blog last year! Keep it up!

  44. tessa

    travel suggestion posts!

  45. Frances

    vlogs and giveaways!!

  46. Laura from Germany

    More vlogs! More vlogs! :)

  47. Alexa

I’d like to echo the comment above that mentions missing the olden days of your blog (circa your DC days). I know you weren’t totally supporting your family with the blog back then and a lot has changed, but I really loved reading along before every other post was sponsored. It felt like a genuine peek into an inspiring, colorful family life, rather than a brand, and I really miss that! Please oh please revive those simpler days!

  48. Lu De la Rosa

Hi Naomi!!! Happy New Year 2017 for you and your lovely family
Love your blog, you inspire me.

happy new year the Davis family ! I think i want to see more video, more private post of you like beauty post/ morning routine video with kiddos…

  50. erin

    Happy new year!

I would love to read a post about your faith — how you talk to your kids about god and believers; how you balance living in a huge city full of every religion and the non-religious (and people whose lifestyles run contrary to some of the teachings of the Church); how you maintain relationships with close family members who no do follow the faith as closely as you might — or family/friends who lean towards the fundamentalist aspects of the faith.

I’ve only been religious for a couple of fews (not LDS but strongly considering conversion) and find it so helpful and rewarding to hear about the path others have walked.

  51. Jane

    hi!

  52. Ashley

Happy New Year! Can’t wait to see what you guys are to for 2017.

  53. Laura

Hi Naomi! I stumbled upon your blog about a month ago and you have quickly become one of my favourites. You have such a great mix of family, fashion, travel and fun all captured so beautifully that you are hard to resist! As a mom of two girls under age 3, I am awed and intrigued (and super envious!!) by the amount of travel and fun activities you do with your kids. I would love to read more on your tips for traveling with young kids or even how you spend a whole day out and about, missing naps and dealing with potentially crabby children. I love my schedules and routines but feel like they hold us down sometimes. Keep up the great work and Happy New Year from Vancouver, BC, Canada! :)

  54. happy new year, davis family! i’ve been reading your blog since before eleanor was born! i love what your blog has molded into and love how true to yourselves you’ve stayed. i love the mixture of family posts and travel posts and look forward to reading more in the new year!

    oh, she’s lovely

  55. Naomi, it looks like you had an amazing year, and it’s been wonderful following along. I hope this year brings you and your family even more happiness. :)

    Best wishes,

Naomi! I love your blog! I read it from France 🇫🇷!

I remember from previous posts that you modeled for a brand of cute jersey dresses. I don’t remember the name of the brand anymore. Could you help me? Thank you so much!

  57. Nathalie

PS: Happy New Year! Bonne Année!

  58. Nadine

    Happy new year from Germany!
Your kids are the cutest ever, but I’d really like to see more of the personal you – like what do you enjoy in your free time, styling tips, maybe tips on marriage?

    Best wishes for 2017

  59. Alissa Turpin

Happy New Year! In Jan of 2016 you went to Australia, I am planning on going next January and was wondering two things: 1) How did you feel the crowds were since this is their busy season? 2) How was the weather on Hamilton Island / Whitsundays in January (I hear it rains a lot then)? Thank you so much for your advice!

  60. Adrian

I know you have touched on this a little before, but it still baffles me how you squeeze 5 of you all into your apartment and would love to know how you keep things without the house looking like a hoarder gone bad! I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with just one little one and I struggle big time! Mainly with how to control the clothing situation and things you want to keep for the next one.

  61. Caylee

This comment/question may not at all be relevent to this post but here it goes!
First off, I adore your sense of style and choices in baby names.
    Two questions…
First, do you have any favorite skincare must haves?
Second, I read on a much older blog post you designed your engagement ring..which company did you use? And can we get a close up photo of the beauty?

  62. Suzanne

I would love to see a lot less of your kids and more of you & josh! Or even just you and friends. Less kids focus. Maybe more marriage focused or even just you as a woman and business owner.

    Happy new year!!

  63. Gray

Kid stuff and parenting topics! Screen time, what a day looks like with the kids, etc. Very inspired by your Instagram!

  64. Tris

I think it’s funny that people are asking you to do less sponsored posts… That’s how a blog makes money and can survive on its own as a full time job. I don’t mind the sponsored posts and often find them informative anyways! If I could ask for one thing, it would be more vlogs. Your family’s personality is infectious and I always leave my screen happier than I was when I got online which is rare for the internet. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful life with us and I loved the most recent posts of your struggles with stress.
    Happy New Year, Davis Family!

  65. What a FULL year you and your family had. I loved seeing all of your travel posts – your drone shots from Switzerland had me SWOONING, and now I’ve got one on my wishlist. I especially love all the short films you guys put together too.
Here’s to an even better 2017!

  66. magali

Dear Taza! I wish you and your family a happy new year! Stay all healthy…that the most important part. Don’t chance anything on the blog, it is perfect that way ;)
Could you give us tips how to make such cool photos? I don’t mean technical support but Ideas for how to make them look so natural like if you would not pose, idea for the background or details…etc I don’t know if you see what I mean…
All the best and THANK you for your blog!
    many greetings from Switzerland
    magali

  67. Jen

I’m a new mum and would love a baby/toddler book review post. As in books for adults, not children’s books.

  68. Sab

I’ve been following your blog for 6 years now, and have loved and missed the Samson-isms and Eleanor-isms that you used to post! They were the cutest and most hilarious thing ever! Please bring that back!

  69. Rachel

Hi Naomi, I’m a fairly new reader of your blog (from Montreal, Quebec) and I really enjoy it! I’ve gone through tons of your travel
Section and I have a specific question about your romper from Doen. It’s beautiful on you by the way! What size are you wearing if you don’t mind sharing with your readers?
Happy New Year & come visit Montreal!
    Rachel

This post reminded me of how much I loved that long green jacket you were on Easter this past year….so pretty. I hope you guys have had a wonderful start to your new year. I’m catching up on your blog posts tonight and just wanna say how much I admire you.

    xoxo

  71. Love your blogs! You’re a huge inspiration specially for a new blogger like me. I’m always looking forward to read new blogs from you. I’m a mother of three too and your stories with your family gives me life!

    Hey Naomi,

Please don’t ever stop being positive and sharing the bright moments of your life-isn’t there enough negativity in the world?! Please don’t stop sharing photos of the kids- really how could you? Please don’t stop the sponsored posts- it’s still a “job” after all. Please don’t feel the need to validate other people’s stress by sharing your own- unless you really want too. I think it’s safe to assume that we all have stress. Please continue with your vlogs, travel tips and fashion tips! Thanks so much for being a bright spot on this crazy thing we love called the internet.

    Jamie!

  73. Lauren

Thanks for always sharing bits of your life with us! Thank you!!
