milkmaid-braids

happy thursday everyone! a few months ago, when i put together this fun twisted heidi braid tutorial with aubrey nelson and nicole gerulat, we also made a few other quick tutorials to share with you based on some of the most asked questions here about my hair.  like the twisted heidi braids, both of these styles are super easy and quick (if i’m doing them, you know they are!) since i don’t know how to do anything too fancy or elaborate with my hair. like i said last time, there are a lot of great beauty bloggers out there who i’m sure share these much better than i, but here’s my stab at it anyhow.  i hope for those of you who are curious about these ‘hair do’s’, this is helpful!

  1. I have bangs and have always struggled with how to do a wrap around braid. This looks simple enough that I think I can pull it off. Thanks so much!

  2. Kathryn

This is actually my go to hairstyle – I love it! It takes hardly any time at all but it looks pretty involved. It’s also great when my hair is not the cleanest because it hides everything so well haha.

so true!!! on day 2 or 3 after washing i feel like it works best too since the hair isn’t as slippery and loose!

  3. Neha

How great is this! Braiding my hair from my part all the way down to the ends takes me about five minutes, and this would just take an extra 30 seconds to wrap around and pin! Great hairstyle for a polished look when your hair is a bit greasenasty. ;)

i recently cut my hair and got bangs. I’ve been struggling on how to wear it differently then just wearing it in a top not. This post is helpful!

hi naomi, for the second braid are you doing a dutch braid (opposite of french)?

    • TAZA

yes, i call it an inside out braid, but maybe it’s called a dutch braid? i should have mentioned that!

  6. hanna

I love the first one.Super cute –Hanna Lei

  7. gina

    your freckles are so gorgeous!

    • TAZA

thank you! i know the shade is by maybelline, but i don’t know the name. it’s an orange-y color and sadly i lost it or i’d check for you. :(

  8. Elle

Love the milkmaid braids!! :) I like to do them whenever I’m having a bad hair day or don’t feel like washing my hair. They make it look like I spend hours every day putting my hair into fancy updos but really its just super simple and a nice way to put it up :)

  9. Flor

This is really random but do you guys still get to see Kingsley? Just curious! x

  10. I absolutely love these hair styles and from experience, they do not work on super clean hair. You want at least second day hair to get it to hold so the braids don’t slip out. However, you can fake it by adding some dry shampoo to your roots! I just made a video tutorial about my favorite brand “Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo.” You can see it here: http://youtu.be/JREcR9jSLd4 Love your page Taza, thank you for these beautiful tutorials!

  11. AC

Oh God, you’re so lovely : such a beautiful mama !! thanks for these tips, xxx from France !

  12. miri

WOW! This is amazing and it seems very easy to make these braids. I will definitely try both ways for my next photo shoot!

You have such beautiful hair Taza! Thanks for the tutorial!

  15. Hey Naomi! I like the way bangs are paired with braids in the first Hairdo. It’s too cute and attractive. It is a great step by step tutorial for someone like me who isn’t good at making braids. But please tell me how to pull off braids as my hair are very curly and short?
