taza’s new york city guide: soho + nolita

FOR-IG

hi everyone! i wanted to continue my nyc guide this week and share a few of our favorite spots in soho and nolita! and we have another fun video highlighting a few spots by jenner brown below. if you missed the last few guides, see my guide to the upper west side HERE, a guide to union square to midtown HERE, and the village HERE.  this is of course just a small sliver of what to do in the city, but hope it’s helpful!  soho and nolita are some of our favorite areas to shop and eat and explore (and people watch!) it’s really worth making a full day out of both little pockets.

ps! don’t forget to leave any of your own soho and nolita favorites in the comments below for us and others to check out.

enjoy!

I love that you are doing this series, there are so many amazing places to go and things to do in this city and I always love hearing about them from others.

I have been wanting to get over to Georgetown Cupcake for ages! Have you ever been to Vesuvio Bakery/Birdbath on Prince St? Their coffee is amazing (bitter) and they make these delicious giant cookies!

  5. your guides = the most brilliant
    xx

  6. Casey

Man I just love how you style your hair! Do you use a straightener or curling iron to get the tosseld (sp?) look? (Looks great brunette or blonde to me! ) :)

P.S. you had me a Georgetown Cupcakes. I love cupcakes!

Ahhhh Soho, such a happy place. One of my favorite spots to go when I visit New York is Freemans. I think it’s technically located in the Lower East Side, but it’s right on the border of soho. I definitely recommend you check it out if you haven’t already. It’s at the end of a little alley so it’s easy to miss. The restaurant atmosphere is perfect for a date night :) Also love mercer kitchen! You are right – perfect for a special dinner.

    • TAZA

haven’t been to freeman’s! thanks for the tip!!

  9. Now I just need to head to New York, so I can actually visit these. Thanks for the guide. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼

The soap place looks so cool and the cupcakes so yummy, every time you post about them I die to try them! Love that you draw attention to some smaller places that people may not think of going/ know about. Also so weird to see you with blonde hair now I’m used to your brunette! But you look really pretty in this video- I love the fringe! (Bangs) :) do you film these videos over a few days, as that must be a loooot of food to eat in one day!! Or just share it with Jenner after you’ve recorded that bit? :)

and yes, we did buy all of that food! but we shared it all so nothing had to go to waste. still feel full thinking about it. ;)

Dear Naomi, a great city-guide movie which makes me wanna go to NY asap! i understood that this movie is made by a friend of yours, but i have a question about the movies you make of your family (who i adore btw) Which movie editing program or app do you use? And can you cut short parts out of a long video and paste them together? i hope you can help me, because i’m starting my master of pediatric physical therapy and i have to edit a lot of videos for assignements and i love the way you edit yours. Lots of greetings and love from Holland, Lotte

    • TAZA

thank you! for my own videos that i make i just edit them with iMovie on my computer. nothing too fancy. yes, you can cut and slice larger clips of a video in that program too. i think it’s great for what i’m using it for. good luck!

  50. Love reading this and still thinking how lucky I am to live right down here. All the playgrounds are ideal for kids, too. Vesuvio pool is FREE! and well-regulated, so it’s a (fairly) relaxing place to take a dip. Plus the fountain (replicating Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano) is a blast for kids to play in their timed/random shooting fountains. There’s also Citibabes for indoor playground on rainy/col (or even sickeningly hot) days.

  51. Cute video, I will have to some of these places out when I go! But seriously…. how full were you after all this?! All that food, yeeee. I am surprised you could still walk by the end of the day, where was the food-coma wheelchair when you needed it?!

  52. Thank you so much for all the great NY tips! I just found your blog today and I love it. I’ve lived in NY myself, but that was 10 years ago so I can’t wait to visit all the cool new places in October (and blog about it of course :-).

  53. Krissy Hess

Hi, where is the graffiti of hearts on black wall located at? Thanks!

  54. Carly

You are right about Georgetown Cupcakes. They are hands down the best. Also, love McNally Jackson.
