we are back from san francisco and already missing it! we all came home with a little sun on our noses and cheeks which has been a nice reminder of what is around the corner (warm weather! we hope!) since it snowed all night here in new york city.
this trip felt very quick. josh and i spent the majority of our time in meetings thursday and friday, but we still tried to see a few friends and do a few fun things as a family over the weekend. i’d like to think our little ones are great travelers, but the plane ride over was unfortunately pretty rocky. we landed early and had to sit on the plane for 45 minutes on the runway in SF around 2AM our time… and poor samson wasn’t feeling it at that point. you know how that cabin pressure can feel on your ears… then add teething on top of it, i think the poor mister hated everyone and everything at that point. there was a lot of rubbing of the back, trying to get him to nurse and apologizing to fellow passengers around us who kept giving us that look you tend to get as a parent when someone is annoyed with you. (please tell me i’m not the only one who gets that look.)
besides the plane incident, the kids were troopers! we all somehow snuck in 9 hours of straight sleep one night in the hotel (WHICH HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE…. EVER!) and enjoyed our time together in sunny california.

^^^the painted ladies! and a picnic with friends…^^^

^^^the trolleys are fully responsible for my obsession with san francisco. i mean, trolleys!^^^

^^^breakfast at craftsman and wolves. and eleanor’s “cheese” face posing with our big ice cream cone!^^^

^^^cutest mister samson. also, babies in hoodies. i cannot get enough.^^^

^^^feeding the ducks with friends and hanging out at the palace of fine arts…^^^

^^^dolores part! that slide is perfection (HERE’s a video of E going down all by herself). in-n-out, um, HELLO! and samson stealing eleanor’s spoonful of ice cream. sometimes you forget about a baby’s strong grip and reach. also, his name is samson.^^^

^^^we got to see one of our favorite people in the world, ms casey, on saturday morning. casey is so talented, but also the most genuine of the bunch. love her. so grateful this online world has brought us together.^^^

^^^sticking a daisy from the park in her hair… and making a mess in jordan’s studio!^^^

^^^this is what arriving at 2AM NYC time looks like… we lost one of E’s pigtails and samson was over his shoes, but we made it! ^^^

^^^ hanging out with our friend joy, who we are working with on our new project! joy is so much fun. she makes all those long conference calls and meetings exciting! so thrilled to see all of our hard work coming together!^^^

until next time, san francisco! xoxo
ps– a few more videos we made with the vine app (crossing the golden gate bridge, eleanor and mama at the palace of fine arts, my family just hanging out after dinner, and there are ducks in our hotel room!?)
also, a few posts from our time in san francisco last summer HERE, HERE and HERE if you missed them and wanna take a look…
all photos were taken on our iphones. and edited with the vsco cam app.

Biggest slide ever + babies in hoodies. You really cant beat that!! Cant WAIT to see what you guys are working on ;)

well you certainly make me want to back my bags and head to sunny Ca, though I’m certain i would be getting the same eye rolls/ annoyed expression because we all get them. and even if you’re kids aren’t “great” travelers yet, they sure are getting a lot of practice. either way they are learning to deal with discomfort and new surroundings and a break in routine.
you guys are so very brave.
I was in San Francisco this past weekend too! At some of the same haunts as you as well :) How funny!
Big hugs to the little mister! And thank you for the amazing pictures!
As always, gorgeous photos! You’re making me want to go back to SF ASAP! Can’t wait to hear what you and Joy and others have been up to.

If you love Trolleys, you should check out Savannah, Georgia. The food is incredible, the trolley rides are fantastic, and the city is gorgeous.
I adore ms casey! She is my client and dearest friend (I own her Panic Attack painting–there is no artist I love more, biggest fan on the planet!). Gorgeous San Fransisco photos! Found you on IG and it’s been so fun following your photo stream + the surprise seeing the beautiful Casey! Hope to meet you in NYC sometime. xo Jennifer Kass
I love San Fran! The pics are great – as always! I’m glad that Josh is taking the camera more, because usually there aren’t very many photos of YOU! Love the little Vine videos, too.

Quick question: is that a cover on your Maxi Cosi car seat? Will you share where it is from. That is just the product I need! Best!
i am not sure, it was a car seat we rented with our car rental. sorry!
Amazing pictures. It looks like a ton of fun. -Hanna
I have a trip booked to San Fran in July! Anything I just CAN’T miss? Never been before…
Look at you guys! What good travelers. Love your jeans and E’s sneakers. And all these photos make me miss San Fran. Must go back soon. This time with our little babe too.

I love your jeans, the polka dot ones. May I ask?
Yeah, sitting on the runway forever is definitely a nightmare for kids for some reason. I’ve been there.
Woohoo, so glad you had fun here! :) Your kids are so precious, and I’m so excited to hear about this new project of yours!
Also Bi-Rite – yum! A new one just opened this past week by my sister’s apt in SF and I am dying to go visit!
California misses you already lovely Taza and family! Where else can you get an In-N-Out Burger at midnight, which is exactly what I did last night. Thank you for falling in love with this beautiful state, can’t believe I get to enjoy it everyday. You totally just made me appreciate it that much more! Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium if you ever get a chance or Hearst Castle too:)
San Francisco is amazing and beautiful city, I lived there and I spend the most important moments of my live!!! I miss so much living in SF!!!

Love your pictures! Glad you had a great time with the family in cali. cant wait to hear about your upcoming project.
Where did you get those pants in the last pic? So cute!
thanks! from zara.
SF looks simply divine! I miss it so much; these photos just make me want to hop in my car and drive until I see the ocean. I’m bursting with curiosity to know what this super secret project is all about, but I know I’ll love it already. Love you, Taza & fam!
p.s. For the next plane ride with the littles, a “safety” lollipop (which I’m sure you know of, but it has a loop for a stick) is always great to keep them happy and occupied. The sucking will kill any ear-pressure and candy just works little miracles sometimes. Hope that helps!!
i hadn’t heard of that. thanks! i will look into it. have tried almost everything at this point. ugh. :|
Oh my gosh, cutest videos ever!!! How adorable.
I can hardly believe these pics were taken with your iphones. So beautiful!
Aw, it’s awesome you guys got so much sleep! My 4 month old is pretty good at sleeping through the night, but dang it’s hard for me to get that much sleep with all the mama-stuff I have to do. Lucky lucky!
You went to all the places I want to go to!! Especially the palace of fine arts!!
oh my gosh the duck videoooo!!!
Your babies are so cute and wellbehaved! I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco… I guess it has do to with my teenage obsession with the tv show Full House, do you remember it? :)
I’m so looking forward to discover your new project with Joy!
I love the duck video! Such cute little giggles.
Love, I get too excited when I see a new post!
I just wanted to thank you for your beautiful blog. As a mother of one and the talk of a second (eeek!), you’ve shown me that it’s do-able. Not only do-able, but FUN. Your blog has strangely taught me to not sweat the small stuff and to enjoy every moment. You conquer long distance traveling like a champ (my fear)! You navigate NYC with two littles like a pro. You love your husband, you love your babies, and you love life. And you have one heck of a closet, my dear! You are one spectacular gal!
Thank you again for such a beautiful blog.
Erin O.
thank you so much, erin! really, thank you. it means a lot! have fun working on that second! ;)
looks like an amazing time!
and WAIT. you know casey o’connell?!? she’s a friend of a friend–and an alum of Flagler College, just like me :) this world is so small!
xo,

Despite the ugly beginning, the Davis family rebounded well. What a gorgeous, brief trip!
P.S. As a fellow recovering ice cream addict, Josh has amazing will power.
he really does! every day i am amazed at how he is still going strong! he also cut out soda with high fructose corn syrup and i applaud him like mad. i couldn’t do it (well, the ice cream part. soda isn’t a big deal for me). having him go cold turkey has definitely helped me cut back on my intake, which is kinda nice, though. he’s amazing. :)
What a fun trip! Thanks for sharing pictures. You guys are the cutest family, and I love following along.
amazing pictures!! looks like you had a wonderful time X http://www.dippedinyellow.blogspot.com

super cute post and videos!
Naomi! Let’s talk about how the painted ladies are 4 blocks from my apartment and I seriously can’t believe that our paths didn’t cross.

I would love to run away to a warmer city today! lovely pics
Hi Naomi!
I’ve been following you and your family for years and really love everything you post. I never do this and i’m sure you’re asked this all the time, but as i was clicking through your SF trip links at the bottom of your post, in the 3rd link theres a photo, 4th photo down of the rooftops and then the ocean! Is there any way i can order that photo from you?? I just know i won’t stop thinking about it!
I know you’re busy and have way more important things to worry about, so just let me know!
thank you so much!

what a wonderful trip, you have a beautiful family. i recently moved to the san francisco and these photos make me giddy about my newly adopted city :) i know you’re not a fashion blog and a few people have already asked, but i would be so grateful if you could tell me who those red studded boots are by or where to get a pair!

I cannot believe how many times we almost crossed paths during your trip. I swear I was in or near the very same spots as you guys that whole weekend! Glad you had such a grand time in my beloved SF. Can’t wait to hear about the new project!
dear naomi,
today marks the day i have officially read all of your blog. when i say all it means all six years. i went to your archives and clicked one by one, month by month. it took me around 2 weeks, an entertaining two weeks. with this done i think its just not out of the ordinary to say…
thank you naomi, this little share you have in the world is really something. i have always believed that what ever comes from the heart always find its way back to it. and so i feel about your blog. so much love, so much honesty, so much passion and energy from the very beginning. i know that i am definitely not the only one that feels this way.
you and your little family have something special and you choose to share it with the world. not only it takes courage, but also a whole lot of commitment, especially with two toddlers in the house. so please, give yourself a pat in the back, you really did well. you are awesome and you should be proud.
i wish you, josh, eleanor and samson good health, happiness, lots of love and fun. i wish your little family all the best and please continue to do what you are doing. we love you.
love ima,

Hello,
Love your blog, dice pictures. Which size shoes are you wearing.
I want to order them from zara. But not sure how they fit.
Thank you and Hola from spain!
i think they are a size 8, but it will depend on your own feet and shoe size, of course!
well it was really great trip :) and your kids are wounderful :)
Ah, I want sun and warmth ;) It is still freezing here and spring just won’t show up.
These are great family pictures, I would love to go to San Francisco, that would be a very very long plane journey, indeed. I have always wanted to go but these pictures just make me want to go even more. I’m glad you had fun. You’re kids are an absolute joy!

Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Thanks to you I’m going to visit the Palace of Fine Arts this weekend weather permitting. I’m just DYING to know what you guys are thinking up with your project. Hi Naomi!!
I love that kind of posts, with plenty of colorfull snapshots!San Francisco looks like so much fun! Thank you for sharing, your blog is part of my daily dose of happiness!!
P.S: I looove your red boots!! : )
Ahhhh your little family is so cute. Congrats on trooping it out there with the babies it must have been crazy. San Francisco has been on my bucket list after I saw LA and decided I preferred an older looking city that reminded me of Europe…but in CALI!.
Love the photos! Wondering if you have ever or could ever do a post about going out and about with kids? I have a 1 and a half year old and we are hermits because every time we leave the house she goes into meltdown mode when we don’t let her pick up garbage, or stop her from grabbing a strangers purse etc. Do you just power through that sort of thing? Does it become easier when they are older?
Ah, I heart San Francisco! I’m so sad I missed it during my last visit to the bay area.
can you share where your striped shirt is from??
thanks for always taking the time to reply. youre so grreat at that!

Hi Naomi! This is somewhat unrelated to this post, but my husband and I (with our 15month old daughter) are headed to Argentina soon, and my husband needs a new pair of shoes! He wears leather dress shoes most of the time, and I wondered what josh wore when you went to Italy? We plan on a lot of walking in the city, etc so I thought i would ask. Our husbands have very similar style. :)
Thanks so much! xo
one of my favorite cities!
Great pictures!! We’re going to SF in a couple weeks and I was wondering where that slide is in SF? Thank you!
Naomi, where’s E’s cute lil red spring coat from? I love it!
