hmmm, this just might be the cutest thing ever.
(thanks alisha for sending! original source.)
i’ve always thought fancy-over-the-top birthday parties for babies were kind of silly. so imagine a birthday party for a dog?

will anyone still be our friend if we throw kingsley one?
(before you answer that, remember his birthday is ON HALLOWEEN. just THINK of the possibilities.)
besides already searching the web for “ninja costumes for dogs”
in my spare time, i’d love to try my hand at homemade fondant again.
  1. Nothing is over-the-top when it comes to four-legged lovebugs!

  2. Dip-tea

    Adorable!

  3. That cake is Pure Awesomeness!!! If his birthday is on Halloween & you had a cake that ruled like that I don't think there'd be a problem with it! hehe. Ninja costume? Too cute!!

  4. no judgments here…i'd do it!

  5. Oh my god that cake is amazing – you have to make one!

  6. Kelly

I'm pretty sure your friends would love you even more if you threw kingsley a birthday party! That cake would be perfect, and it doesn't look that difficult to make either!

  7. Oh Darling I will always love you no matter what!♥
Kinsley is adorable and yes if he wants to party let him party!!!

  8. Love the idea of a ninja costume. Too adorable, I however hate worse than toilet cleaning working with fondant. Can never get the air bubbles out!

  9. Kingsley is your baby. Baby's have birthdays, and they like that 1 time of year they get to eat a piece of cake! You should so do it!

  10. i don't think it's crazy at all (and not just because i adore halloween). luna's first birthday is tomorrow so maybe i'll make her a tuna-flavored cake.

  12. just the fact that kingsley is a bulldog makes it completely acceptable! he's cuter then lots of babies these days anyways so i'd say go for it. and ninja costume, awesome idea.

  13. so cute!
We have a birthday party for the cat :)
    xxx

  14. (p.s. your post title should be "break out" not "brake out") sorry, I was an English major!

  15. corinna! thank you! i totally spaced that. will change it now!

  16. LOL I totally had a party for my pomerainians 1st b-day! Mable (that's her) had a party dress, gifts, a pom shaped cake and all kinds of doggy friends in attendance! It was HILARIOUS! And yes, I for one will still love you even if you have a doggy party!

    M

  17. I threw my little dog a birthday party and it was a blast. Although on one dog really liked the cake enough to eat it haha!

  18. Who doesn't like a good ninja party?

  19. Halloween Dog Birthday Party – YES PLEASE! I hope you do hold this complete with costumes for all that attend!

    That cake is so cute!

  20. oh my gosh you will throw him the best party ever!! and i know the cake will be amazing!! he is so lucky to have parents like you. luckiest little doggie ever!

  21. JenRem

If invited, I would be there in a heartbeat. <3 I love Kingsley like one of my own (considering I don't have any of my own, that means a lot) :)

  22. Jay

Fantastic cake!! I reckon you should most definitely throw him a birthday party when that time comes ;) Why not??

  23. Kari

    Ohhhh my goodness!
You MUST have a Kingsley party.
    It would be FANfreakin'TASTIC!!!
    :)

  24. Too cute!! I love it!! My pug puppy , her birthday is October 30th!!! She will be one!! Too cool her and Kingsley are close in age!!

I think a birthday party would be great!!

I love the Cherry Blossom pics, we are hoping to go for the parade and japanese street festival!!

  25. now would you have to make it out of dogfood for Kingsley to eat or regular cake for your guests to eat?

    It looks super cute!

  26. Ali

Um, you HAVE to do it!

  27. Maddy

That cake is precious! As are dog birthday parties, I say go for it. I'd do it if my baby weren't so anti social, any party we'd have would be mostly for us and she wouldn't notice!

  28. super cute.
don't worry, i am thinking about throwing my little pup a birthday party. i just lover her too much. she is my baby.

  29. dogs in regular clothes? a little silly. dogs in Halloween costumes? the cutest thing in the whole wide world. :)

  30. Angela

I'm now trying to figure out if I have time to make one for my Pomeranian baby before her birthday tomorrow… Where's the Charm City Cake crew when I need them!

  31. Allison

You should check out the Hello cupcake book, they have mini dog cupcakes and a bulldog is one of them! I vote for mini Kingsley cupcakes!

  32. Adorable!!!! We have a little terrier mix and I wonder if there is a cake out there that looks like her I hope so :)

  33. Rhianne

um. wow!! I can't wait to have a dog too, I'm going to spoil it outrageously :) A ninja themed, halloween party for a dogs birthday sounds perfect to me!

  34. Ashley

  35. CAPow!

I'm totally throwing my puppy a birthday party next month. I'm already planning and he's definitely getting a cute cake.

If only I had a Halloween puppy though! How fun! :)

  44. That's so sweet! I totally wish I was able to go to that party, Kingsley is so delicious!

Also, I just thought I would let you know, because you love her jsut as much as I do, that I'll be going to go to Regina Spektor on the 21st of April (inthreeweeks!!) and I am totally excited about it! I know that you have seen her shows before, so I was just wondering what you thought of her live (im assuming spek-tactular reviews :P)

  49. Becs

I vote for the birthday party, especially if there are costumes.

  50. Well, I guess some people treat their dogs as if they were their kids, so…

no matter, the cake is adorable!!

  51. Lanie

that cake is adorable. and so is the hamburger one! I love them both!

PS: you better have a birthday party for kingsley because costumed dogs are always a sight.

  52. April

We always have a birthday party for our pooches…cake, presents, balloons, party hats..the whole package! Looks to me like Kingsley is just another member of the family. And that is what you do for family. No shame!

  53. Id be tempted to move from Australia to be your friend if you threw Kingsley a party!

  54. Cheray

do it! :) and on halloween too?? just sooo perfect!! it could just be "a very Kingsley Halloween" theme!

    That cake is awesome too
    Cheray x

  55. omg that would be sooo amazing to look at a blog posted about kingsleys amazing birthday party! i love it!

  56. Alycia

The only problem with that cake is that it would be too cute too eat. But if you can get passed that, do it! Sounds like a great, fun reason to have a party!

  57. saraH

maybe it's a good thing Kingsley's b-day is on Halloween so you have an excuse to throw a party! Cuz me personally, I agree that it's silly to throw way over-the-top parties for kids(at any age) so I think that's kinda silly if you have over-the-top b-day party for a dog. But that's just me. :)

  58. that cake is incredible

i love you guys's family pic

and you are adorable, as always

  59. Riley

    I love it!

  60. We have a theme party for our little Westie's birthday every year! Some people might think we're strange, but she really appreciates it. :)

but yes ADORABLE, to say the least.

  62. Cheryn

I would be disppointed if you DIDN'T!! :) We've had doggie birthday parties AND Halloween costume parties. They're a blast! And other dog lovers totally get "it". And for the non-dog people, well, who cares about what they think anyway? How can you be a non-dog person, right? RIGHT! Party on sister!!

My apologies for the multiple posts. My computer has been acting up.

  68. Does the little flag say "Veronika"? That's my name! And I am crazy about bulldogs (English and French). This cake is the cutest thing ever!

  69. Kari

HAHA Seriously, I was considering this last year for my baby when she turned 1! I didn't end up having a party for her but this cake might be the cutest thing i've ever seen. Truly.
